Good Person VS. God Person

Updated: Dec 5, 2019

You can be a good person and not be spirit led.

Spirit led means discipline to your flesh. The worlds definition of good is not God’s definition.

You can have good intentions but still have wicked actions when you’re not Spirit led.

The Holy Spirit is responsible to train you and direct you,he teaches you to be holy to have self control and humbleness he guides your actions and reactions. As John 16:13 mentions “He will guide you into all truth.” Another good scripture says in John chapter 14 verse 26 quotes ”But the helper The Holy Spirit whom the father will send in my name will teach you all things..” Without him you are living and responding through your flesh and that can be dangerous to not only to you but others surrounding you.

Are you checkable? Who can get you in check? Who is able to correct you? Do you feel as though you are always correct about everything? What happens when things aren’t done in your time in your way? Is your grace and kindness limited? Do you only keep your peace when others keep theirs or do you put yours down when others challenge you?

Well if you answer honestly and you like myself may need a little more help and work in a certain area that just means you need more fruit !

If you claim christianity but don’t bare fruit, you might wanna check if you are actually surrendering your heart fully to the Holy Spirit.

There is no way that you can live the same life you had before Christ with the Holy Spirit living on the inside and guiding you.

Is an apple tree still an apple tree with no apples ? An apple tree with bare branches , is only indicating that the tree is sick or dead. If something isn’t growing than it’s dead. The Holy Spirit is alive and he brings life so if he ain’t in you than you than what is taking his place 👀? Romans chapter 8 and verse 9 states “ But you are not in the flesh but in the spirit .. Now if anyone does not have the spirit of Christ he is not his.” Jesus cursed the fig tree that bare no figs, it’s a waste of time sucking up the gifts and nutrients that others plants could use to actually grow and bare fruit. The enemy wants to suck the gifts and life out of you so you never are able to develop fruit, or mature fruit that is healthy.

We can’t make excuses for our short comings using the term “that’s just who I am“ or “ you know how they are” to crutch the behavior. If you want to live by the standards of Christ and you profess Christ as your lord than you should look like him in every way not some days or just on some special occasions. Let the Holy Spirit seriously work on and in you, and transform your mind and heart. Tear down the old and let God bring his newness into your life. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says “Therefore if any man be in Christ he is a new creation and old things have passed away.”

Read Galatians Chapter five and study the fruit of the spirit , ask the lord which fruit you need more of, ask him to help prune you so that you may bare good and healthy fruit. When you do this you give him access to your heart and life. Pruning hurts because we see and come into the realization that we are unappetizing without God, but it humbles us and directs us to become greater than we are in this moment. John 15:2 declares “He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” When Christ is done with us the world will be ready to pick from our tree and enjoy our fruit!

Bon’ appetite !!
